SHELL EGGS: Daily National Egg Market-at-a-Glance
New York prices are 6 cents higher for Medium, and 5 cents higher for Extra
Large and Large. Regional and California prices are steady. The undertone
is firm to higher. Offerings and supplies are light to moderate. The national
shell egg inventory is down 6.0 percent from the week before. Demand into the
retail channel is moderate to good, while food service demand continues very light
to moderate. Market activity is moderate to active. Breaking stock supplies are
light to fully sufficient for reduced to normal breaking schedules. The national
breaking stock inventory has decreased by 3.0 percent from last week. Spent hen
offerings are at least sufficient for the slow demand.
